- Winthrop University offers a variety of academic, talent, and athletic scholarships.
- Up to $10,000 scholarships available to freshman students each year.
- All entering, first-time freshmen and transfer students will be considered for merit-based scholarships. Awards are based on the admission application; no additional scholarship application is required.
- Need-based scholarships are determined based on FAFSA information that is filed each year.
- Talent scholarships for music, dance, theatre, and sports are also offered for both new and continuing students.

Winthrop University encourages students to complete their application early in their senior year.
- Spring Priority Deadline – February 1*
- Scholarship Consideration Deadline – February 15
- Regular Deadline – May 1**
*Applications that become complete after February 1 will be reviewed monthly, and decisions will be released on a rolling basis.
** Applications received after this deadline will be evaluated if space is available.
